The score

A 0 to 100 summary of the latest scan: half from the share of pages with no issues, half from how many issues there are per page, weighted by how much each one gets in people's way. It's for tracking progress, not a legal measure.

Impact levels

  • Critical: blocks some people completely (a button with no name, a form you can't complete by keyboard).
  • Serious: makes the page very hard to use (low contrast text, images with no text alternative).
  • Moderate and minor: real problems, but people can usually get past them.

What to fix first

  1. Rules that fail on many pages: usually one fix in your theme, a template part or a block fixes all of them.
  2. Critical and serious issues on your most important pages (home, contact, checkout, sign-up).
  3. Everything else, page by page.

The Issues screen

Each row is one failing element: its page, its CSS selector (paste it into your browser's developer tools to find it), its HTML, what exactly failed and a link to a guide for that rule. Filter by rule, impact or page.

Images

Lists images with missing alt text or alt text that needs a look (file names, "image of…", too long or too generic). Images from the Media Library can be fixed right there; the new alt text applies wherever that image uses its library alt text. Decorative images should have an empty alt.
